Sullivan’s Crossing is coming back for season 5 — and Chad Michael Murray has hopes for some old friends to appear on the show.

While talking to Good Housekeeping in late June, the actor, who played Lucas Scott for One Tree Hill’s first six seasons, opened up about wanting to reunite with two former co-stars on Sullivan’s Crossing.

“I would bring in Craig Sheffer for a little Lucas/Keith action, or you know, good old Barry Corbin,” he exclusively shared. “The man lives on horses; we’re out on the farm. He could fit there very well.”

Chad added that he’s had the thought of bringing former One Tree Hill cast members to Sullivan’s Crossing for quite some time.

“I mean, it’s funny. I think last year, they asked me if there was anybody,” he said. “So, we took a look at some options, and they didn’t fit the mold perfectly for what we were looking for. But Marcus Rosner (who played Liam) did, as they were looking for a Liam-type love interest, and he crushed it.”

On One Tree Hill, Craig played Lucas’ uncle, Keith Scott, during the first three seasons of the drama. His character was killed off in the season 3 episode “With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Wept,” but popped up in flashbacks in seasons 4 and 9.

Barry played Whitey Durham, the basketball coach for Lucas’ high school team, the Tree Hill Ravens. He was on OTH full-time for the first four seasons, and later appeared in a recurring role in seasons 5 and 6.

With Sullivan’s Crossing renewed and Chad’s enthusiasm for bringing familiar faces to the show, fans of One Tree Hill may yet get the reunion they’ve been hoping for.
