Inspired by the U.S. Open’s iconic $23 Honey Deuce, this zero-proof riff swaps the Chambord for strongly brewed Raspberry Zinger tea, which brings brambly fruit flavor and a nicely dry finish. The result is less sweet than the original, with club soda keeping every sip light and refreshing. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Honey Deuce without those signature honeydew “tennis balls.”
Yields: 1 serving | Active Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 15 mins
Ingredients
For the Mocktail
- 2 oz. strongly brewed Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Zinger herbal tea, chilled
- 2 oz. lemonade (such as Simply Lemonade), chilled
- 2 oz. club soda, chilled
- 3 honeydew melon balls, skewered on a pick
For the Chilled Tea
- 2 cups boiling water
- 4 Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Zinger tea bags
- 2 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. agave nectar
Directions
Make the Chilled Tea
- In a large liquid measuring cup, combine the boiling water with the tea bags. Let steep 10 minutes, then remove the tea bags, squeezing out excess liquid; discard tea bags.
- Stir in agave nectar. Let cool, then refrigerate in a jar until ready to use.
Make the Mocktail
- In a tall glass, stir together the tea and lemonade; fill the glass with ice and stir to combine.
- Top with club soda and gently stir. Garnish with honeydew melon balls.
Make It for a Watch Party
To pre-batch for a crowd, combine all of the chilled tea with 2 cups lemonade in a pitcher and keep refrigerated. When ready to serve, pour 4 ounces of the tea-lemonade mixture into an ice-filled glass, top with 2 ounces club soda, and garnish with honeydew melon balls. You can also scoop and skewer the melon balls ahead of time and keep them frozen until serving. Makes 8 drinks.
